I spent the winter break, after my trip to Florida, at home with my family. We relaxed and did the things we usually do at home: reading, cooking, running, swimming, spending time together and with friends. It was a much needed break, and it ended all too soon. Here a few snap shots of some of the highlights, starting with a trip to Pacifica/Half Moon Bay. I will add the rest, including our New Year's Day photos, in a separate post.
My younger siblings were in school when we drove to the beach, so unfortunately they missed out, but for us it was a great day!
In Pacifica, it was sunny and surprisingly warm. The waves were good, not too small or too big, and we took full advantage, boogie boarding and body surfing for hours (at least what seemed like hours). Our body surfing antics made us the laughing stock of the surfers, but we didn't mind. We were having too much fun to care.
After rinsing off the ocean water in the outdoor showers, we changed and headed for lunch at Barb's Fish Trap (pasta with butter, herbs, and clams. yum). This was followed by a walk on the pier and a scenic drive home (somewhat less scenic in the second half, when we got stuck in traffic...).
I am adding a lot of photos to this post - I got a new camera (an Olympus) for Christmas which takes much better photos than my iphone's camera, which I have been using up until now. This is my first post with photos from the new camera, so I feel like I have to put up a lot of them to show it off :)
