Last summer, my family and I went on a camping road trip up the coast from Oakland, California, to Oregon. We met our good friends the Watts, who live in Seattle, halfway between us to camp along the Oregon coast. I meant to write a post about the trip straight after it happened, last July, but obviously that hasn't happened....Right now, in the end of April 2015, I am in the middle of exams, and figured a good break from studying would be to do a photo post about the trip. Since it was a road trip, I decided to post in the 'Travel' section rather than the 'Photography' section, even though it might end up being mainly photos...
I wrote an earlier post about a trip to the Rogue River, here, and this trip to Oregon was a continuation, the stage 2, of that trip. We camped at a campground on the beach, which was inventively titled Beach Campground. There were many benefits to this campground; you could walk from the tent to the beach in about 2 minutes, there was a full bathroom with a shower and a hose outside of it, which is ideal for washing off salt and sand after a day at the beach and for cleaning boogie boards, surf boards, and other gear, and the campground is beautiful. There were also some downsides, mainly that we were surrounded by humming RVs and the freeway was separated from us by just a few trees. It was easy to escape the noise of the cars, though - just walk to the beach. Even thought it was so close to the campground, and the campground was pretty full, the beach was basically empty everyday we were there. It seemed like our fellow campers at Beach Campground weren't very beachy people, strangely enough.
Here are a few campground images
And a few beach images of the beach walking distance from our campground
As well as exploring this beach near the campground, we also drove to a beach a little farther away and explored the tidepools there. Here are some photos of that one.
And, finally, some photos of the drive. These photos aren't quite as good because they were taken on the move.
