Edinburgh is beautiful in spring time. All of the trees, which for months have been nothing but dark, twiggy spectres blowing in the glacial winds, spring into life with small green buds, which eventually bloom into bright spots of color. The grey and brown of winter is replaced by blue and pink, white, yellow, purple...endless color combinations as flowers shoot from the ground and burst from the trees. I have been taking photos of this marvelous transformation during my runs on Arthur's Seat and my walks through the city, and will share a few of them here so you, too, can see the change.
Last year I was back home in California at this time and so didn't see the flowers quite so much in bloom. This year, as I have an exam very late in the exam season, (May 21), I am staying in Edinburgh longer, and one of the great things about that is that I get to see spring in full fling.
