My dad has always been a huge composter - kitchen scraps can become excellent soil for the garden! I grew up with this mentally, and last year brought it to my flatmates. We had a big compost box that was in the kitchen already when we arrived (funny because there was no trash bin there) and used it all year. This year, we did not have that compost bin, and I kept meaning to buy a composting box but never quite got around to it. Finally, I decided I had to either do it or not, and this is the result:
