Scenes from a Chibuene Day
November remains, as always here, a quiet month, so I thought I’d give a little update as to what a typical day might look like around here.
Last night, there was a big rain and thunder storm, so today all of the chongololos came out.
When it rains hard, sometimes our electricity gets a bit damaged for a day or so, meaning that when we turn on the taps, we get shocked (yes, terrible). So, we went outside to turn the power off so we could use the water and found this little hidden chicken nest under the power box. A hidden treasure.
After a bit of morning work, I set off on a beach ride on little Bazooka, the black boerperd (a South African horse breed), for a ride with some clients.
We then set out to make some shampoos and hand lotions, gathering all the ingredients together before starting our experimental mixings and combinings.
The negative of the day is that this little guy was sitting under the floor mat in the shower, and when Jay came out of the shower he stood on it and was stung on the heel. Luckily, it is not a super dangerous one, but still a painful sting.
