Humani Sunrise, Sunset
Last week, I spent about 8 days back in the Save Valley, on Humani, with the Zimbabwean cousins. Most mornings, Anne and I went on a walk with the dogs, leaving just before 6am. Most evenings, we either did a drive in the bush or a sundowner with a view. Here are some of my favorite sunrise and sunset shots from that week.
These first two are from a morning walk with Anne and the dogs: Spot, Boss, Chikari, and Bam.
These two are from another morning walk, this one along the Humani airstrip, just me and Spot. As we walked, we passed a small herd of wildebeest, and as we carried on farther, I heard a sound in the bushes - I was alone, and suddenly imagined it to be a leopard or lion. I had been told that leopards live near the airstrip, and so did a quick about face and headed straight back from whence I had come. It was probably nothing, given Spot and the wildebeest’s non-reactions, but. One can never be too careful…
Finally, these last are of a sunset, ending in moonrise, on a gomo (hill) looking out over what seems to be an endless span of land, forested and lush.
