Every year I usually do a post about Christmas/New Year, since these days its the only time my family are all together. As it is now nearly October 2020, I have obviously taken a loooong time for this one, but it was a great holiday so I have decided better late than never.
Rather than spending Christmas in Montreal, as we had done the past couple of years, the family decided to come and visit me in Mozambique. My brother came a week early, and then he and J and I drove from Vilankulo to Humani, our cousins’s ranch in Zimbabwe. There, we met my parents and Dill. We spent a week exploring Humani, meeting all the cousins, and celebrating Christmas before driving back to Mozambique, where we spent New Year on the beach. There is a lot to tell, but for now, I will just include some of the best pictures, first from Zimbabwe, then from Mozambique.
Driving in and out of Humani we are met with all kinds of animals. Here is a hippo watching us from where we drive across the river. Next are five lions we drove past on our way out a week later.
We went on game drives most days to see what we could find.
And went tracking a rhino on foot with our guide:
And here are some random other photos from Zimbabwe.
And on to Mozambique!
