Hi.

Welcome! I am a California girl who has lived in Scotland and Mozambique - follow my adventures here!

Last of Summer

I'm back in Edinburgh. I flew into Edinburgh from San Francisco last Tuesday, arrived on Wednesday, unpacked on Thursday, and flew to London on Friday for a family reunion. I got back last night from London. I plan to finish my unpacking this week.  As a little side note, I am having a rather frustrating morning: I already wrote up this whole post, complete with photos, and was about to publish it, when, as has been happening a lot lately, the page suddenly quit and I lost everything. So, if this post seems a little low on writing and enthusiasm, it's because I already spent a while doing the last one. I am also trying to check my school emails to prepare for class, and the site won't accept my password, which I know is right, or let me request a new one, so I've had to email the help line - not a good start.

It's raining here, for a change, a rather fitting beginning to the start of classes and the end of summer. Autumn officially starts in the UK on September 23, but I guess it came early; today is the 21 and the weather is definitely autumnal. To start off the school year (classes begin today) and close off the summer, I decided to do a post of last photos from this summer that I want to share. So, here goes:

I spent a lot of time relaxing here in the Adirondack chair my dad made

fresh produce at Pie Ranch in Pacifica

roasted peaches for dessert!

funny sign outside a Mexican restaurant in Seattle

my mom hiking in Washington

This is a rock, shell, seaweed, sand bunch. Very cool. See those white strings at the top of the big shell? Those are how the mussel holds onto the shell/rock that it's clinging to.

ducks in Sweden

two horses and a mule ready to go
