Here is a cool discovery I made, a long time ago I admit, that I wanted to share today: touch screen sensors react to rat paws as well as human hands. Cool, right? I found out when I was sitting in my room, and my rats Sparrow and Alfredus (called Fredus) were out running around. Always curious, Sparrow came over to see what I was doing and walked over my phone, which was open to the notes page. Her little feet scurried over the keyboard, and activated the touch screen, typing out 'ajkb./' or some similarly indecipherable message. I've heard people say that rats' intestinal systems, etc, are pretty similar to the human systems, and that's why they are used in experiments. It seems that that is not where the similarities end....
